Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions we are asked.

When and where do you meet?

Our monthly Pack meetings are held on the second Friday of every month at 7:00 PM in the DuJardin School Gym. (Currently, with District 13 construction, Pack 194 is meeting at St. Walters School, Roselle, IL.) Den meetings occur at times coordinated by individual den leaders to accomadate each family's availability.

Can girls join Cub Scouts?

Yes! Cub Scouting is open to both boys and girls in Kindergarten through 5th grade. Pack 194 is a family pack with dens that accomadate both boys and girls.

What is the cost to join?

Fees for the 2025-2026 School year are as follows:

  •
  • $85 - National Membership Fee (Scouting America)
  • $85 - Council Program Fee (Three Fires Council)
  • $15 - Scouting Magizine (Optional)
  • $150 - Pack 194 Fees (Den and Pack Supplies, Advancement, Awards, Training)
  •

*Uniforms are an additional one-time expense.
Pack fees are prorated based upon when the scout joins the Pack.

Does the Pack offer any ways to lower the cost of joining and participating in activities?

Yes! Pack 194 participates in the annual Fall Popcorn fundraising program offered through Three Fires Council. Cub Scouts and their families have the opportunity to participate in this fundraiser. Based upon the amount of Popcorn sold, a Cub Scout can offset their National Fees, Council Fees, and the Pack dues. Selling beyond these offsets will accumulate funds their Scout account for other programs fees that may arise throughout the year. Please see the 2025-2026 Family Dues letter for specific information.

How much parent involvement is required?

Cub Scouting is a family program. For younger scouts (Lions and Tigers), a parent or adult partner is involved in all meetings and activities. For older scouts, while a parent or guardian must attend all meetings with your scout, the activities and programs are more independant. Parent involvement in the Pack is encouraged through volunteering for events, serving on the Pack committee, or becoming a leader.
